Programs
How We Help
Resources, Education, Support, and Community. These can sit under the broader CARES program umbrella.
Community Care
CARES partners with shelters, churches, nonprofit organizations, community groups, and veterinary partners to bring support directly to pets and families in need. Our community care programs focus on meeting people where they are – with compassion, dignity, and practical resources that help preserve the human-animal bond.
• Homeless pet outreach
• Low-income pet family support
• Community pet service days
• Shelter and nonprofit partnerships
• Mobile veterinary outreach
• Faith-based and community-based events
Resources
CARES provides resources that help pet families care for their animals during difficult seasons. Depending on funding, donations, and sponsorship support, resources may include pet food, supplies, preventive care products, financial assistance, and access to subsidized veterinary services.
• Pet food
• Leashes, collars, crates, bowls
• Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
• Vaccines
• Basic wellness support
• Subsidized products
• Financial assistance when available
• Support for partner shelters and community organizations
Education
Education is one of the core pillars of CARES. We believe knowledge can change outcomes for pets, families, students, and communities. CARES provides education on responsible pet ownership, preventive care, public health, access-to-care options, and the human-animal bond.
• Responsible pet ownership
• Preventive care

Support
CARES supports both sides of the leash – the pets who need care and the people who love them. Support may include guidance for pet owners, emotional support during difficult decisions, education for caretakers, mentorship for students, and encouragement for veterinary professionals who dedicate their lives to caring for animals.
• Pet parent guidance
• Emotional support and dignity-centered communication
• Veterinary student mentorship
• Veterinary professional wellness and advocacy
• Community navigation
• Training and volunteer support
• Connection to partner organizations
Community Partnerships
CARES builds partnerships with stronger communities to create lasting change. This includes organizations already serving families in need, veterinary partners, sponsors, shelters, schools, churches, and civic organizations.

• Church and community events
• Veterinary hospital partners
• Corporate sponsors
• Shelters and nonprofit partners
• City/county/community partners
